Discrimination of minds-City A and City B

Discrimination----City A and City B

If I ask Buddhism practitioners what your eventual destination is through all these practice. I think most of the answers are the realm of Amitābha in the west or other Buddha’s region. Now let’s name the world we live in as World A, and that of Amitabha as World B. From now on, we are dedicated to the endeavor of marching to World B, sooner or later we will arrive there, which is splendid and unimaginable, and is much more better than what it feels and looks like in World A. Should we accept this illustration? I would say this expression is not absolutely right. If we follow the above explanation, it means what have arrived at World B are only our physical bodies other than our minds that still stay in world A. This is called DISCRIMINATION.

In the eyes of the enlightened, world A and world B are identical. The difference lies in the distance between our current mind and our original nature. For instance, generally we do believe that delicious food and attractive dresses are better than shabby clothes and rough food, and that being somebody is more admirable than being nobody. Actually, gold could be soil, and soil could be the real treasure. If you have discriminations in your mind, what is reflected in your eyes may not be the truth. Project the theory of “World A and world B are identical” into your daily life, you will acquire more happiness in your life other than being critical and fault-finding to your surroundings.

Derived from “World A and World B”
The above mentioned topic reminds me of how to worship and make offerings to Buddha. Generally, it is good that we offer very expensive and beautiful items to Buddha like what many people do, however, the real offering is to offer what you think the best. It may be treasures of gold or silver, or a bunch of flowers, or a land view, or even a piece of music, because these objects reflect your mind. That is to say, we can worship and make offerings to Buddha anytime, anywhere. With a purified mind, you are offering the best to Buddha

About understanding and trust
A disciple told me a story about him and his friend. His friend confides to him a lot. He always listens to him carefully and gives feedbacks to his friend, he believes his friend trust him and he understand his friend. Whereas, this is a kind of serious discrimination, since you can’t really understand others as an ordinary being, this kind of understand and trust are only a delusion that you put in your mind. To help others is our responsibility, but do not let it bother ourselves, that is what I often told you do not bring yourself into others’ troubles. As a result, everyone should have his or her own “spiritual privacy” as well as respecting the privacy of others, stay a reasonable distance with each other, which can be called a kind of freedom. If such idea can be properly applied in your daily work and life, you will be a happy man with boundless virtues.
